Minnesota WIld Schedule

I don't know about the rest of you, but our favorite time of year down here at Ticket King St. Paul is just around the corner - Minnesota Wild season! And with the Minnesota Wild schedule recently announced, we thought it was very important to let all of our loyal hockey fan customers know that Ticket King definitely has some really great availability for all of the Minnesota Wild games this season! Here are the games from the Minnesota Wild schedule that THIS Minnesota Wild fan is most looking forward to this season:

October 11th vs. the Boston Bruins: It's the home opener!

October 30th vs. the Montreal Canadians: The Habs are an institution!

November 24th vs. the Washington Capitals: C'mon, Alex Ovechkin, MVP!

November 28th vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning: To see Wes Walz again!

December 31st vs. the San Jose Sharks: NYE game is the best of the year!

January 3rd vs. the Detroit Red Wings: Stanley Cup Champions!

February 14th vs. the Ottawa Senators: JASON SPEZZA!

March 17th vs. the Colorado Avalanche: Love the competition!

April 10th vs. the Nashville Predators: Last regular season home game of the year!

Ok, I'm obviously a little bit in love (hence all of the exclamations) with the Minnesota Wild, but being that Ticket King St. Paul is just down the street from the Xcel Energy Center, it's probably a benefit to our customers that I know what's going down over there (-: And Ticket King St. Paul has the BEST Minnesota Wild tickets to every game on the Minnesota Wild schedule this year, give me a call at 651-298-8100 or check out the site for the most up to date ticket information. Peace out!

W. 7th Starbucks

I love Starbucks, that much is clear to anyone who spends more than three hours a week around me. A grande dark roast in a venti cup with a splash of skim milk (some Starbucks locations are actually serving fat free half and half, which is super yummy) will put a smile on my face at any time of day. Just a block and a half down West 7th Street from my Ticket King St. Paul office is my favorite Starbucks in the Twin Cities. The staff is awesome, they know me when I come in (surprise, surprise on that one, right?) and they always have a fresh batch of coffee brewing. Starbucks has recently come out with some protein drinks, which are apparently really really good, according to my friend Molly. Since I'm a Starbucks card holder (which is the greatest addition to my wallet, I get emails all the time about trying new things and getting free drinks!) I have a free one coming my way this weekend, so I'll have to let all of you Ticket King customers if it lives up to the hype.

Minnesota Twins Tickets

The Minnesota Twins schedule is heating up - and I can't believe how fast Minnesota Twins tickets are going out the door down here at Ticket King St. Paul for the next two weeks worth of games! We still have a pretty decent selection available, but this MLB team is hot, hot, hot! Here's what they've got coming up, if you're interested:

♥ Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox Tickets: July 28th through July 31st

♥ Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Indians Tickets: August 1st through August 3rd

♥ Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees Tickets: August 11th through August 13th

ALSO!!! We're only two weeks away from the first Minnesota Vikings home preseason game! Don't miss out on the great pricing that we have available for the games before the regular season starts, buying pre-season tickets is a great way to get the entire family out to a game this season at a reasonable price!

Las Vegas

The NATB conference in Las Vegas was great! There were some really informative panels and seminars on the state of the industry from every angle. With all of the mergers and deals that have gone down over the course of the last year or so between the primary and secondary markets, it was really interesting to hear what all of our ticket broker friends/colleagues had to say on how their businesses have been affected and how they think the industry is going to change in the next year or so.

I know that I am completely biased (obviously, since I work for Ticket King I'm going to be a huge proponent of our company (-: ) but I really wish that consumers realized how much better off they are by going through Ticket King over these larger "broker corporations". Not only do you get a better price and not have to pay a service fee when you order your tickets through us or on our website, but you get SUCH better customer service. When you call Ticket King, you're talking to people who actually care to make sure that the customer is able to purchase what they're looking for, is knowledgeable about tickets and venues and the customer doesn't sit on hold for five or ten minutes while they wait for someone to pick up the phone! It seriously blows me away that these companies claim to have such good customer service when a customer will sit on hold for five plus minutes just waiting to talk to someone for the first time.

Lesson to be learned: if you want the best ticketing experience in the industry, order your tickets through Ticket King!

The History of Air Conditioning

Since we are SO excited to finally have air conditioning in our Ticket King St. Paul location, I thought I'd share the origins of the a/c unit! The idea of cooling a space has long been in existence. Ancient Romans used aqueducts to push water through building walls to cool them. Ventilators were invented in Egypt and used during the Middle Ages. In 1842, a Florida doctor figured out how to use ice and a fan to cool the rooms of his patients. The first real air conditioning unit was developed in 1902 by Willis Haviland Carrier to control temperature and humidity in a printing plant - and since it worked so well, teh Carrier Air Conditioning Company was formed to improve the comfort level in homes, businesses and cars. In the 1950's, the A/C trend really took hold and has just increased through today, where A/C is more of a necessity than a commodity. So there you have it, the origins of A/C.

NATB Conference

Something that many people don't know is that Ticket King Minnesota is a member of the National Association of Ticket Brokers, or NATB. I think what people don't realize is that there actually is an official ticket broker association that helps to regulate and protect the industry. Every July, there is a big conference that brokers go to from all around the country - and I'll be there this weekend. So stop in to say hi to the Ticket King-ers that will be working at Ticket King St. Paul on Thursday and Friday in my absence, I'm sure they'd love to see you! Ticket Kristy will be down here for the Saturday Neil Diamond show, and I'll be back in time for the Sunday show. Speaking of which, Ticket King St. Paul has a few really great seats available that recently came in for these two shows with superstar performer Neil Diamond, so if you're still looking for Neil Diamond tickets, give us a call at 651-298-8100!

Ticket King Mascot

Well, the results are in...and apparantly everyone (minus the people who work here that voted "NO") wants to see the Ticket King Mascot at Ticket King ST. Paul for some of the Minnesota Wild home games this year. I'll let you all know if this will ACTUALLY happen once I convince someone to wear the mascot around the Ticket King office.
P.S. the Minnesota Wild schedule will be released today or tomorrow, check out our website for the most up-to-date information!

Baseball, Baseball, Baseball

It's that time of year in between school getting out and football season starting when the most fabulous sporting thing to do during the week is to catch a couple of baseball games. Whether it's catching an outdoor Saints baseball game, taking in a Minnesota Twins game at the Metrodome or flying out to Yankee Stadium for a weekend series, Ticket King St. Paul has you covered. In addition to how much fun you and the fam will have AT the game, there are some great promotions and giveaways at a lot of the games that make them so much better!

To kick things off, let's see what wacky events/giveaways you'll get to check out by buying St. Paul Saints tickets for an upcoming game....

TODAY, July 15th, the Saints are throwing a retirement party for baseball commissioner Bud Selig. TOMORROW, July 16th, you don't want to miss the crazy tailgating featuring the "A Monkey Can Do That...And We're Going To Prove It" bit - I'm not sure what all that means, but it's sure to be a fun time down at the best tailgating party in the Twin Cities! THURSDAY, July 17th is Noodles & Co. takeaway night....and it's the best night of hte year to donate school supplies at Midway Stadium for underpriviledged kids.

The Minnesota Twins have some super fun giveaways for this weeked - and all you have to do is purchase Minnesota Twins vs. Texas Rangers tickets for one of the games (and be one of the first 5,000 to 10,000 fans, of course).

FRIDAY, July 18th you could walkaway with a Twins "Dirt" Shirt if you're one of the first 5,000 people in the venue over the age of 18. Saturday, July 19th the first 10,000 patrons will receive a free Delmon Young bobblehead. SUNDAY, July 20th, the first 5,000 fans that are under the age of fourteen will receive a free Justin Morneau jersey. PLUS you get to see our future legends in action right after the All-Star Game!

Week of July 14th

I hope everyone was able to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend! It was perfect for hanging out by the lakes, hitting up the Basilica Block Party and then grabbing a cocktail on the roof of Stella's Fish Cafe in Uptown.

I have a treat for all of the Ticket King St. Paul customers out there - well, it will seem like a treat after last week's barren list of events around the twin cities. There's actually some stuff going on this week! So let's get to it, here is what's happening in the metro area:
July 18th: Poison tickets
July 19th: Jimmy Buffet tickets (at Alpine Valley)
July 19th and 20th: Neil Diamond tickets

There is tons more to do this week than last week, it would be GREAT to check out a baseball game with how nice the weather is going to be this week...before we know it there will be snow on the ground and we'll be complaining about the negative thirty wind chill, so get out there and enjoy the summertime goodness!

I Like It, I Love It

Since we've had a relatively slow couple of days as far as events actually happening this week, I thought I'd compile a list of what we're really looking forward to over the next month and a half down here at Ticket King St. Paul and Ticket King Minneapolis.

First and foremost, next Wednesday the Minnesota Wild schedule is released. This has got to be one of the highlights of my summer :)

The Minnesota Twins schedule matches them up with a division rival, the Chicago White Sox between July 28th and 31st. This is always a fun series to go to, especially as we head into the last third of the season. We have a good selection right now of Twins vs. White Sox tickets.

The Minnesota Vikings schedule kicks into high gear for the pre-season the beginning of August. Their first home game is Friday, August 8th at 7 PM where they'll be taking on the Seattle Seahawks. The second home pre-season game will be against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the 23rd of August, a Saturday, at 7 PM. Ticket King has really awesome Vikings vs. Seahawks tickets and Vikings vs. Steelers tickets, check out our website or give us a call (651-298-8100) if you're looking!

My favorite baseball series (ok, sometimes, like this year, we're matched up more than once, but I don't know how you would spell the plural of series?) is when the New York Yankees come into town to take on our hometown boys. Twins vs. Yankees tickets are a hot item at any time of year, and since this series is right in the heat of baseball season (August 11 through August 13), make sure you get yours early!

The first home Minnesota Golden Gopher football game will be August 30th at the Metrodome - this is such a fun game to go to, if you have that evening open, keep it that way! Gophers vs. Huskies football tickets are available by phone or online through Ticket King.

The first home Minnesota Golden Gopher hockey game is October 10th. Still quite a ways away, but the early bird gets the worm on this one, Gopher hockey tickets ALWAYS sell out early.

Have a fabulous weekend!

A/C, Finally.

Well, all...Ticket King St. Paul FINALLY has some air conditioning! It's so much nicer to have cooler temps in here...especially with the ninety degree weather headed towards us on Friday. And it looks just as good as it feels in this office today! Since the construction is done, the office is finally cleaned up, so it's actually a workable space again, it's not like you're entering a danger zone by coming into Ticket King St. Paul anymore.

I had a W. 7th Street neighbor stop into our office yesterday in the morning wanting to know about our plans for the Republican National Convention that will be taking place at the Xcel Energy Center at the beginning of September. Just as a forewarning, Ticket King St. Paul will most likely not be open that week. Never say never, but it's going to be way too crazy down here for us to warrant being open. In which case I will be working out of our Minneapolis office, which is about two blocks from the Metrodome on the corner of Chicago and Washington, just in time for the start of the Gopher football season!

I love the first home Minnesota Golden Gopher football game. It's like the fall season has really started, and it's so neat to see the marching band line up outside the Metrodome getting everyone riled up for the game. Ticket King has some really awesome tickets for the home games, too, so if you're looking to catch a couple of the football games this year, check out our website or give me a call at 651-298-8100.

:SIDE NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE VENUE WHEN PURCHASING MINNESOTA GOLDEN GOPHERS TICKETS ON OUR WEBSITE. ALL OF THE SPORTS LIST ON THE SAME PAGE, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR FOOTBALL GAMES MAKE SURE IT SAYS THAT THE GAME IS AT THE METRODOME, HOCKEY SHOULD SAY MARIUCCI ARENA, ETC.

Week of July 7th at Ticket King

I have really great news for all of you Ticket King St. Paul fans that were concerned about our lack of A/C over the past few months...it will be finished by the end of the week! I'm super pumped, so I figure everyone else must be, too ;-)

Anyway, here's what's going on this week at Ticket King St. Paul:

Monday, July 7th: Susan Tedeschi tickets, George Michael tickets
Wednesday, July 9th: Minnesota Lynx vs. Atlanta Dream tickets
Saturday, July 12th: Minnesota Lynx vs. Houston Comets tickets

Yep, that's it. Nothing else. It's going to be a slow week in the Twin Cities....

US Open Story

Although we've only been at the Ticket King St. Paul location for about a year, our company has been around for almost twenty years - the last three of which I spent in our Hudson, Wisconsin location. Because we've been around for so long, we have some very long time customers that email me their sports/concert/theater stories every once in a while. I received a very neat email earlier this week about a Ticket King St. Paul customer's experience at the Women's US Open last week that I thought I would share with all of you bloggers!
I was at the U.S. Women's Open on Wed., Thurs. and Sunday. I
took my nephew Sunday and we set up by the 11th/18th tee boxes for the first 4
hours and got to see all but the first five groups play there. Then, we headed
over to where the 12 and 17 tee boxes are. Got to see the rest of the groups, so
so saw all 74 golfers play at least one hold. After Annika teed off on 17, we
headed over to the 18 fairway to watch her play the final hole of any Womne's
Open (U.S.). It was so crowded that we set up at a spot about 200 yards short of
the green. So, as she was getting ready to hit her third shot to the par 5
green, we were directly behind her, probably about 30 yards away. So, Taylor and
i got to witness some history --- seeing her make the 199 yard 6 iron to get an
eagle on her last hole of any US Open. We are searching the videos and photos to
see if we can find ourselves in the background.
Great story, Pryce!! If any of our other Ticket King St. Paul customers have their own stories to tell, email them to me! I'm out for the rest of the long weekend, have a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Minnesota State Fair Concerts

As we're edging in on the start of the greatest festival of the summer in Minnesota, the Minnesota State Fair, more commonly referred to as the Great Minnesota Get Together, I thought I'd bring your attention to all of the great shows that are going to be at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand this summer!

Thursday, August 21st: 3 Doors Down tickets
Friday, August 22nd: Brad Paisley tickets

Saturday, August 23rd: Backstreet Boys tickets

Sunday, August 24th: Jonny Lang tickets

Monday, August 25th: Dierks Bentley tickets

Tuesday, August 26th: Paramore tickets

Thursday, August 28th: Mark Schultz tickets

Friday, August 29th: Prairie Home Companion tickets

Saturday, August 30th: Black Crowes tickets

Monday, September 1st: Toby Keith tickets

There are so many shows that I want to go to, it's going to be hard to pick and choose. I'm thinking maybe I need to buy 3 Doors Down tickets, Brad Paisley tickets, Jonny Lang tickets, Dierks Bentley tickets (I'm totally in love with Miranda Lambert's cd, and she's coming here with him!) and maybe some Toby Keith tickets, too.
